Ontario Canada Outposts
How long has Walsten Outposts been in business?
Walsten Outposts began in 1962 and has over 60 years of experience providing world-class fishing and hunting experiences in the Canadian wilderness. The business was started by Kevin Walsten and is now owned by Alf Moncrief, Derek Grandbois & Rob Perchuk as of 2022.
What makes your locations unique for fishing?
Our fly-in outpost cabins are situated on pristine lakes within Ontario's renowned Trophy Waters region. This conservation area is known for an abundance of trophy-sized walleye, northern pike, lake trout, and smallmouth bass. The minimal fishing pressure in these remote locations helps maintain excellent catch rates.
Do you offer moose hunting trips?
Yes, we provide guided moose hunting trips each fall that include air transportation from Kenora to the outpost camps. We have decades of experience and a 75%+ success rate for moose hunts in the breathtaking Canadian wilderness.
What amenities are provided at the outpost cabins?
The outpost cabins are fully outfitted with propane fridges, stoves, freezers, generators, and all necessary cooking/cleaning supplies. We also provide boats, motors, and gas to ensure a seamless experience.
How often do you check on guests at the outpost camps?
We schedule flights every 2-3 days during the fishing and hunting seasons to check on guests and deliver any needed supplies or equipment to the remote outpost cabins.
What is your cancellation/refund policy?
Deposits are non-refundable but can be transferred to a future trip if cancelled 60+ days in advance. Cancellations within 60 days forfeit all funds paid. We strongly recommend trip insurance.
Should we bring towels and sun block?
Yes! Please bring your towels and reef-safe sun block with you. Please don't bring sun block that has Oxybenzone in it.
